Description

From New York Times bestselling author Marie Lu comes the second book in the exhilarating Young Elites series

Once upon a time, a girl had a father, a prince, a society of friends. Then they betrayed her, and she destroyed them all.

Adelina Amouteru’s heart has suffered at the hands of both family and friends, turning her down the bitter path of revenge. Now known and feared as the White Wolf, she and her sister flee Kenettra to find other Young Elites in the hopes of building her own army of allies. Her goal: to strike down the Inquisition Axis, the white-cloaked soldiers who nearly killed her.

But Adelina is no heroine. Her powers, fed only by fear and hate, have started to grow beyond her control. She does not trust her newfound Elite friends. Teren Santoro, leader of the Inquisition, wants her dead. And her former friends, Raffaele and the Dagger Society, want to stop her thirst for vengeance. Adelina struggles to cling to the good within her. But how can someone be good, when her very existence depends on darkness?

Bestselling author and New York Times proclaimed "hit factory" Marie Lu delivers another heart-pounding adventure in this exhilarating sequel to The Young Elites.

This was really good! This book was different from anything I’ve read before. Adelina is a VERY interesting character. Poor Enzo though...A really good dark fantasy!

This book had me torn between hating and loving adelina. She is a great character and deserves to have some happy ending but I know that will not happen. The ending was amazing and had me wanting more! I loved Enzo and Adelina's love in the first book and when I was reading I didn't totally like Magiano at first because I too wanted Enzo to come back to life. When he did tho I didn't like him at all because he threatened to overpower Adelina and was a back-stabbing lover. That's when I liked Magiano and how he would let A Little light into Adelina's cold and dark heart. To be a little angry towards adelina tho, I didn't like how she wanted everyone in her life to leave her alone, when what she needed was happiness and friends. Although I would like Adelina to be happy, and like I said up top, have a happy ending, she can't because her mind and heart is to cold and distant from everyone else and she doesn't know how to love because of how her father treated her in her past. :( I don't like that she holds a guilt over Violetta over their abusive father hurting adelina instead of Violetta because she needs to let that go! She is friends with her sister and knows that her father is gone even if he is a ghost and her crazy mind is telling her that he's still there, he's gone. So if anyone would read my super long review and sorry about this but I would totally recommend this book and the entire series even though Midnight star hasn't come out yet and I know everyone is excited for that! 😍 Can't wait to read it! Bye

This book was very good, but also very dark and intense. I have never read anything like it. Though I think it may be a bit to dark for my taste, I still liked it. The only thing I did not like is Enzo is still not what he was in the first book.

Adelina is crazy and I don't know how to describe this book it's so unlike anything I've ever read ! The main character is a villain and she just keeps digging this hole that is just getting deeper ! I wanted Enzo and Adelina to get together and I thought that was going to happen and then it just seemed impossible. This book is so unpredictable This book fell under the second book curse a little bit because the beginning was very slow and didn't pick up until the end but I enjoyed the book otherwise. I'm excited for what going to happen next .

I haven't finished it yet I have about 50 pages left and I'm very sad I'm going to have to wait another year for another amazing book from Marie Lu, but it's going to be worth the wait for the 3rd book of this series. I really enjoy Marie's work!

I always like the evil characters best in any story, everyone loves to hate the Villain right? It's just such an interesting take on the struggle of light and dark and you root so hard for her and you forget that you're technically on the "wrong" side. Makes you wish you could have all your favorite books written from the pov of the bad guy. J.k Rowling needs to write tom riddles story! I would so be down for that after reading this !
