Escaping Peril (Wings of Fire #8)

Ok listen. I may or may not have read book 15 first then book 1 then this book, but that’s not relevant. (by accident btw) Peril, ever since seeing inside her head, I loved her. Her odd thoughts, her love starved personally, her HUGE love for Clay. All lead me to like her immensely. I can’t wait for her and Sky to meet, they are such opposites!! And Cliff!! He’s so cute and innocent. Ruby is also a great queen for the Skywings. Okay here’s an opinion of mine nobody asked for but must be shared. Sunny and Sky. They would be perfect for each other!! I don’t remember where, but Tui said that a perfect dragon was out there for Sunny, it is only a matter of having them meet. If anyone agrees or has a different dragon they think would work better I’m all ears! Well not actually I’m made of talons and scales and teeth but you get the point -Pearlescent

{ Chapter Five } “You are weak, you’re a peasant! You don’t deserve to!” Locusts mother hissed and grabbed the scroll away from Locust. “Mother, you’re always telling me what to do! I’m sick of it, let me live!” Locust cried aloud. What should i do? should i… tell her she’s uninvited? No. i must let her still come. He thought and stood in front of Locust. In front of Sprout was Locusts mother. Let the rage out Sprout, you only met this dragon to have a friend, if you want friends you’re gonna have to stand up for them. He thought as his talons formed a fist “What’s your name?” Sprout asked demandingly. Locusts mother saw where this was going and growled. “Sarracenia” She hissed. “Okay, look ‘Sarracenia’ we’re not playing games, let Locust live and go in nature for once! I’m royalty and i demand it.” He said in a serious tone. He glanced over at Locust and she smiled. “How is that supposed to happen? She is a peasant! She needs to work not go on a quest for some phony nonsense egg that probably does NOT exist.” Sarracenia rolled her eyes and walked out of the room quickly, closed the door and locked it “You aren’t going ANYWHERE. And i don’t care that your ‘royalty’ worm, you’re not going anywhere because no one needs you. And you shouldn’t be friends with a peasant anyways, it’s against the rules, isn’t it?” She hissed and walked away with the key. I remember all of the rules, but not that one. He thought then remembered there is always a rule chart in each room to remind dragons of certain rules. He glanced around the room and found a dusty chart, he then wiped the dust off and it read; Rule 8: ‘Royalty shall not have relationships with non ranks nor non rank friends.’ He let out a small gasp and sat down on the pillow Locust had been sitting on before she stood up. “Why are you friends with me? It was so… random.” Locust said and sat down next to him but on the cold wooden floor. “I used to be Queens servant, which is confirmed royalty once you have a rank, and i recently got demoted. But now that i’m not always following Queen Vlurin everywhere, i can now make friends which i never had in my life.” He explained. “Then why did you make friends with a peasant instead of a royalty dragon?” She pointed out. “Because all the royalties are either rich and don’t care about anyone or they are rude, so why not have a normal friend?” He said and smiled at Locust. “Normal? isn’t that bad to be normal?” “Oh- oh! No! Sorry, that just slipped out! Your exotic…” He said quickly then trailed off. “Pssh! We barely know each other!” She laughed. “Well, perhaps we can get to know each other better once we’re flying to the Hazel Egg” He said and smiled at her smile. “Well what are we waiting for? let’s go!” She said then quickly realized they are still trapped. “Oh… forgot we are trapped, haha…” She said disappointedly. “There is a window right here!- oh wait.. they are wayyyyyyyy too hard to break.” He said sadly. “Im a peasant, remember? and this is a peasant room! We have easy break glass because who cares about putting work into a peasant house?” She said enthusiastically but a little sad on how they don’t have good quality houses. “Oh right!” He looked down and found a rock wedged between the wooden planks. “This should work.” He said and threw the rock into the window. Craaack! “We’re free!” Locust cried in excitement. “What’s going on in there?!” Yelled Sarracenia. “Quick! fly out.” She yelled and spread her wings. They were out! they were free, they can now find the Hazel Egg! They both flew off into the clouds far away from the kingdom as fast as they could, “So… how exactly do we know where we are going?” Locust asked. “My Queen gave me 3 marks on where it could be, our best experts on detectives drew this map. So we should be able to find it, in about… 3 days?” Sprout said and looked beyond the horizon, dreaming of the Hazel Egg. Arrows came shooting through the clouds to where Locust and Sprout were. “WHAT THE HECK!-“ Locust yelled as the world started fading black. Are these Silkwings? Hivewings? Leafwings? no they would never attack m- He thought as the world was getting darker. must.. stay awake… He thought. The world was all black and empty. Next Chapter on Lost Heir :D -ExhraDragonet

I love Peril. She’s one of those characters that can be lovable but maybe sometimes iffy. Like how she’s always wanting to set EvErYtHiNg on FiRe 🔥 🔥 🔥. But I love her soft spot towards Clay, I just wish he felt a little bit more closer to her, that way it wasn’t entirely awkward. But I love them both, Spicy Cheeto and Potato 🥔 X 🌶️ 😝😝😝 Anyways…I have a What If for this book. And it is… 🥁 🥁 🥁 What If Peril had come out part Rainwing? I know they mentioned this in the book, because Chameleon is a Rainwing, but he was in his Skywing form when him and Kestrel mated. But what if he had mated with her as a Rainwing. Overall, I understand that Kestrel would most definitely never agree to even having the thought of mating with a Rainwing, but think about it! She likes his personality, so why not!? Anyways. CHAPTER 1 The Academy Ash had landed on the peak of his new school. Alright, you wanted to have this chance now you have it. He thought. Ash was never really sure how this “school” idea would go, he was an adopted dragonet most of his life. He was doing fine, he was healthy, well fed, and clean. It was obvious he knew how to take care of himself, plus there was a family friend helping him. And now he was best friends with Cobra and Voidwalker (Cobra’s other best friend). When he heard they were going to school, he needed to go too. Ash flew in the Great Hall where Sunny was giving an announcement, “Welcome back students! I know with yet another war going on, SkyWing and RainWing students are underprotection of the Principal and the rest of us teachers. We wish you all the power of Wings of fire!” After, the students filled the halls. Maybe I should just look around for my–. “ HI!” spoke Fatespeaker, and Ash went to a stop. Fatespeaker gave him a map and his winglet. “ Here you go! You are in…. Diamond Winglet! Lucky! There are more Winglets this year because of how many students are attending.” spoke Fatespeaker once more and pointed her claw down the right hall. Ash crept down the hallway and saw a sign on a cave that said “Diamond” and walked in. He saw a SandWing and a NightWing already here. Then Ash realized they were his best friends! Cobra and Voidwalker looked at Ash with joy and they all had a group hug, then pulled back. “ I can’t believe you came! “ jumped Cobra “ Yeah! I thought you would stay being a rebel.” agreed Voidwalker “Well, thanks for that compliment. And this might be good for me, getting at least a little knowledge before summer.” spoke Ash proudly, as he spun around to see a ledge bed. Ash flew over to claim it. “Dibs!” he yelled, Cobra flew to his own bed and Voidwalker to his. As the sun dropped down so did Ash’s eyes, he tightened them and slept. Warning! Major spoiler alert. You should have at least read Book 1 and Book 4 and 5. aNd bAsIcAlLY eVeRy bOoK bEfOrE tHiS. I loved this personally just cuz you know I always wanted to see things from Peril’s perspective, and also it’s so weird how she’s loyal to people who are enemies?? Also I’m glad she left Queen Scarlett. Not good for her mental health. This book have a lot of revelations about Peril and like I think going into this I would’ve loved reading Darkstalker Legends cause I feel like that would’ve helped a lot but I haven’t read it yet so yeah Really liked it. I honestly feel like this is an optional book to read if you want to read the series; it’s a thrilling adventure with Peril, but if you want to sum it up: Queen Scarlet is dead for good. And Queen Ruby is a hologram??? Never actually knew what she was.
