Description

The instant #1 New York Times bestseller!

A Human hybrid and an Alpha Were claw against the bonds of fate in the highly anticipated companion novel to the New York Times bestselling Bride.

Serena Paris is orphaned, pack-less, and one of a kind. Coming forward as the first Human-Were hybrid was supposed to heal a centuries-long rift between species. Instead, it made her a target, prey to the ruthless political machinations between Weres, Vampyres, and Humans. With her enemies closing in on her, she has only one option left—if he’ll have her.

As Alpha of the Northwest pack, Koen Alexander commands obedience. His authority is so absolute, only a fool would threaten his mate. It doesn’t matter if Serena doesn’t reciprocate his feelings, nothing will stop him from keeping her safe.

But power-hungry Vampyres and Weres are not the only threats chasing Serena. Sooner or later, her past is bound to catch up with her—and Koen might be the only thing standing between her and total annihilation…

‘Bride’ and ‘Mate’ are So. Good. At times I laughed so loud that my family wouldn’t let me continue reading until I explained. The banter is so good and smart and funny. The overarching story line is epic and could stand on its own without embellishment. But the author sprinkles in so much joy and humor and science and glorious sarcasm that the only conclusion is that she must be a wizard who knows my soul and benevolently wrote these two books for me. And hopefully doesn’t mind that I express my gratitude in run-on and half sentences.

The humor is amazing, the plot predictable, the characters are great. This is such an easy read to add when you need a break between romantasy novels.

This one dragged and only my stubbornness kept me going. It’s well written but so complicated even the author seems to give you a wink like hold on when she talks about were history. I reread Bride right bf this too. Weird world but I liked the two protagonists.

Hazelton tries way too hard with (and relies too heavily on) the banter between Serena and Koen and it just reads as sophomoric instead of witty. I loved Bride so I was extra disappointed.

Ali, you deranged human. Genius. This book far exceeded my expectations and they were already so high. Every book she writes is better than the last. This book made me laugh and cry and the love story is just so sweet! And hot.

I am begging you, pledging, please make a pregnancy trope !!! I know that a lot of people don’t like it, but I also know that coming from you it will be a huge success! This is the second time you put the idea out there, of an “impossible” pregnancy to happen. It could be a big plot of a book. Or another book related to the vamp/were world. Please!!!
