The Way of the Superior Man isn’t a feel-good self-help book. It’s a mirror. This book challenges you to look at how you show up as a man — not through money, dominance, or status, but through presence, purpose, and integrity. Some chapters hit uncomfortable because they’re supposed to. Deida doesn’t coddle. He calls out avoidance, indecision, and fear of responsibility in a way that forces reflection. What stood out most to me is the emphasis on direction over comfort. The book makes it clear that peace doesn’t come from avoiding pressure — it comes from choosing a path and committing to it fully. As a man, drifting is just another form of hiding. Another powerful takeaway is how the book reframes relationships. It’s not about control, manipulation, or “winning” — it’s about polarity, honesty, and not losing yourself in the process of loving someone. If you’re looking for game or tactics, this isn’t that book. If you’re looking for self-mastery, it is. That said, this book isn’t perfect or universal. Some ideas reflect a very specific masculine/feminine framework that may not resonate with everyone. It’s best read as guidance, not gospel. The real value comes from applying discernment — taking what aligns, questioning what doesn’t, and staying rooted in your own truth. Overall, The Way of the Superior Man is an eye-opener — especially if you’re in a season of growth, transition, or redefining who you are. It doesn’t give you answers. It teaches you how to stand still long enough to hear your own.

This book changed my life when I first read it 20 years ago. It still informs how I move through the world today. I have given away 3 copies to other male friends and family members. Deida offers a model of natural, positive masculinity to cut through the noise of influencers and other financially compromised snake-oil salesmen of the day. Furthermore he offers more wisdom on masculine feminine relations than ANYBODY’S father or mother could ever distill and deliver. No matter what sex you are, you will gain insight and clarity.

  • Ok, but vague

This title uses ambiguous language with meaningless words. The meaningless words and phrases delegitimizes the purpose of that book is slated to inform you of. A lot of the concepts contradict each other throughout the title as well. Short chapters made the read tolerable and easy to get through.

A fantastic read. Its contents are philosophically in tune with the writings of Carl Jung, Friedrich Nietzsche, Alister Crowley, Lao Tzu, Sun Tzu, Spinoza, Schopenhauer, ect.
