Description

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Meet Jason Bourne. He has no past. And he may have no future.

The basis for the critically acclaimed major motion picture starring Matt Damon!

His memory is a blank. He only knows that he was fished out of the Mediterranean Sea, his body riddled with bullets. There are a few clues. A frame of microfilm surgically implanted beneath the flesh of his hip. Evidence that plastic surgery has altered his face. Strange things that he says in his delirium—maybe code words. Initials: “J. B.” And a number on the film negative that leads to a Swiss bank account, a fortune of four million dollars, and, at last, a name: Jason Bourne.

But now he is marked for death, caught in a maddening puzzle, racing for survival through the deep layers of his buried past into a bizarre world of murderous conspirators—led by Carlos, the world’s most dangerous assassin. And no one can help Jason Bourne but the woman who once wanted to escape him.

“[Robert] Ludlum stuffs more surprises into his novels than any other six-pack of thriller writers combined.”—The New York Times

This is a little better than the movie. There is much action and suspense. I highly recommend this to all ages over 10.

Better than the movie. Intense and gripping. Too drawn out at times. Many moving parts. Overall recommend. With exception of the excessive “darlings” from Bourne’s romantic interest. A little cringy. Read it!

Searching through books and stuff and I find this. It reminds of a song I listen to that has the same name. I read the summary of the book and I look at the lyrics of the song to see if the song (released in 2016) is based off the book (released in 1984). Guess what?? It is!! I love the song and I might get this book. (The song is of the same name by The Last Shadow Puppets.)

Tremendous book. Intricate plot is not for someone in search of quick read. Ludlum doesn’t disappoint with deep plot. Highly recommend the first three Bourne books and all Ludlum novels written before he passed.

I love these movies. It's been awhile since I've watched them, but unless I'm confused, the book is very different. I wasn't crazy about the romance aspect for much of it. Actually a portion of the story lost me for awhile, but I was really into it by the end. I'm sure where the story is going from here into book 2, but I'm looking forward to finding out.

Is much more complex than the movie and more engaging. The writing tends to ramble at times, but be not deceived! This is a very good story and he span of the plot and characters is impressive, not over produced, not cut short. Very good read, stay with it if you like me almost pit it down, the writing is worthy of your perseverance.

This book was boring. No that much action. I planned on reading the whole series after watching the movies. I was very disappointed in this first book.

Excellent book. I am not a reader, but thought I would try a book on Vacation. I could not put it down. Hollywood should make a movie of it. I know they did, and I loved them, but this is much better. 5 Stars.
