5By Break56Could not put this down. Thought I would be sorry to say goodbye to these characters but the author allowed us to say farewell easily. I am left wondering how their lives continued. Look forward to reading another book by this author. Thank you!Just a wonderful read.
5By WordElfI am a veteran fan of many Ken Follett books; and I must say how wonderfully put together this story is- my goodness a perfect movie, if they would make it. As usual, there are women any male reader would fall in love with, bright and resourceful guys and gals who overcome tremendous obstacles, and of course bad guys who get their comeuppance. But I think Ken Follett has a way of imbuing the reader with the sights, sounds, and even tastes of the historical tableau in a way that is riveting and immersive. Do read this book, especially if you are not ready for his longer works. Either way, it is tough to say goodbye to his characters he has brought to life in print, when all is told.
