    It was fun watching this journey unfold with well developed, likable characters. I saw the TV series first and there were notable differences. I don’t recall there being quite as many characters in the series, so they must have cut a lot out. It was a bit difficult to keep up with every person because many of them were only being discussed from the past. They started to run together so I’d have togo back and read things again. I’d just rather not do that. In all, I liked the series TV much better.

    I watched the movie first and then wanted to read the book. I liked reading the book after the movie because now I have faces for the characters. I enjoyed the book and liked the way the author developed the story line and the characters.

    I’ve read this three times now and am always left in a happy place, loving all my friends I’ve made through the pages, laughing and crying with them. An intriguing mystery but a wonderful tale of resilience, the love of friends and hope.

    Lots of twisty fun bits keep this great as a mystery. What really separates it from many others read on an airplane and forgotten by baggage claim is the deep appreciation, love really, for the senior protagonists. Every son or daughter has known a great old lion - whether their own parent or a mentor - and this novel is like a love letter that maybe was never able to be written to them. It sticks. Thank you!
