Description

Can a lady tempt a Free Fellow to surrender his heart?

As a founding member of the Free Fellows League—a group of four gentlemen who signed a pledge to never wed when they were lads—Griffin, Viscount Abernathy, swears that he will put off marrying as long as possible. But when he is suddenly called off to war, he has no choice but to obey his father’s wishes and find a wife…

Just days later, he marries the lovely Lady Alyssa. For a man committed only to his freedom, she seems a perfect—and perfectly undemanding—bride. Intelligent and self-sufficient, Alyssa craves her independence just as much as Griffin loves his. But as the irresistible attraction between them flourishes with every look and touch, they discover there is something they desire even more than a loveless marriage of convenience—the passion they find in each other’s arms…

Book 1 of the “Free Fellows League” Series, which includes BARELY A BRIDE, MERELY THE GROOM, HARDLY A HUSBAND, TRULY A WIFE, A BACHELOR STILL and CLEARLY A COUPLE (a novella from TALK OF THE TON)

I loved some parts of the story and then I get bored. I wish the novel ended with they get children and love grew between them

I searched for “Clean Christian Romance Books.” This book seemed to fulfill that promise until Chapter 18. Then it seemed as though a different, less talented writer took over, one who is incapable of telling a story without descending into pornography. Very disappointed.
  • Good title.

Very well written. I myself do not like the x-rated parts. They tend to cheapen the story. Guess I come from a generation where what happens in the bedroom stays there. Leave the sex scenes to the imagination. Don’t know if I want to read he next book.

This is a finely crafted story and I enjoyed reading it immensely. The author is a very talented storyteller and I look forward to spending time immersed in her other imaginative tales.

This couple is perfect for each other, but refuses to see it. Being a member of the Free Society, Griff will not tell Alyssa he loves her. He’d rather set her free. Love the passion between them! Most importantly Alyssa’s strength and determination are the foundation of this book.

Romance, innocence, friendships, tragedies of war, & a deep love are all included in this great historical romance novel. Truly enjoyable.
  • Interesting and historically accurate

Enjoyed the historic war and battles woven into the story. Characters drew me into the story. Lengthy, but not needlessly so.

Enjoyed the new twist regarding the league. It seems boys of that time didn’t have meaningful examples of adult manhood. Lots of surprises when we go back in time. Thanks.

I truly enjoyed your book. It was delicious to sample and indulge myself. My only regret was reading it too quickly and reaching the end before I wanted. Thank you for a pleasurable few hours. Blessings, Elizabeth Wilson
